 What is Scopus? 

Scopus is Elsevier’s database of the abstract as well as citation launched in 2004. Scopus database covers about 36,377 titles (22,794 active titles and 13,583 inactive titles) from nearly 11,678 publishers, of which 34,346 are considered peer-reviewed journals in the subject fields of top-level. These fields are physical sciences, life sciences, social sciences and health sciences. Scopus covers three types of sources: book series, journals, and trade journals. All journals covered in the Scopus database, regardless of who they are published under, are reviewed each year in order to ensure the high-quality standards are maintained. The complete list is on the SCImago Journal Rank website. Searches in Scopus also incorporate searches of the patent databases. Scopus gives four types of quality measure for each title which are h-Index, CiteScore, SJR (SCImago Journal Rank) and SNIP (Source Normalized Impact per Paper).

 What Does Scopus Index mean? 

Scopus is a database which is containing the abstracts and references from the articles published in the refereed academic journals. The Scopus does cover such approximately 22,000 titles from more than 5,000 publishers, of which 20,000 journals are already evaluated by experts in scientific, technical, medical and social disciplines (including arts and humanities). Scopus is owned by the founder of the printing company Elsevier. Scopus is available online. It can be easier to be reached by subscribing to it. Scopus searches also include the patent database searches. 

 Scopus Indexed Journals 

The Scopus is the number one of abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed journals which consists of more than 70 Million items, such as scientific articles, book chapters, conference proceedings, lecture notes, and books.

 How to verify the indexed journals? 

First: Type the URL in the address bar: www.scopus.com/sources

It will direct into the Browse sources on Scopus.com – the page of Journal List search.

Second: Select the Title, Publisher, or ISSN number of the targeted journal to find the Scopus indexing.

Third: in the title field, give the targeted journal name. After giving the title of the journal, click find sources button.

Fourth: You will get the detail about the exact journal with all database coverage. Thus, you can see that the given journal “Nature Reviews Genetics” is indexed in the Scopus database. In addition, you can get the Scopus impact factor and journal citation reports for the last five years.

 Sci Journal List 

Regarding to the Sci Journal list, there are thousands of journals in Sci Journal lists in publication, and many more have been published at different points in the past. The Sci Journal list in this article is far from exhaustive. Sci Journal list is only containing some of the most influential, currently publishing journals in each field. As a thumb rule, each field should be represented by more or less than ten positions, chosen by their impact factors and other ratings.
